Artisan Coffee & Bakery — Marylebone

Where Paris meets the Bosphorus, in the heart of London.

Specialty coffee roasted with intent, viennoiserie laminated at dawn, simit warm from the stone oven. From Paris, across the Bosphorus, to the heart of London — three cities, one table.

The house philosophy

We believe a café should slow the morning down that butter, flour and properly extracted espresso deserve the same reverence as anything made by hand.

La Boulangerie

The French discipline

Twenty-seven layers of Normandy butter, laminated by hand at 4 a.m. Croissants, pain au chocolat and kouign-amann that would not apologise in the 6th arrondissement.

Fırından

The Anatolian soul

Sesame-crusted simit from the stone oven, pistachio baklava rested in Antep syrup, su böreği the way grandmothers insist upon. Recipes carried, not invented.

Fresh today

Out of the oven, onto the marble

The bake changes with the seasons and the baker's mood. What never changes: everything on the counter was made in this building, this morning, by hands you can see through the kitchen glass.

The croissant is the best I’ve had outside Paris — and I say that reluctantly, as a Parisian. The Turkish coffee afterwards convinced me to stay another hour.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Where is Maison Anatole?
You'll find us at 14 Chiltern Place in Marylebone, a quiet corner of central London, a short walk from Baker Street and Bond Street. It's an easy morning detour whether you're heading into the West End or slowing down before it.
What makes Maison Anatole different?
This is where Paris meets the Bosphorus. French viennoiserie laminated in the Paris tradition, Turkish baking carried from Istanbul, and specialty coffee roasted in-house — three cities at one table, all served in the heart of London. Nothing on the counter arrives frozen or bought in; it's made in the building each morning.
Do you take reservations?
Yes. You can reserve a table online for parties of one to eight, up to four weeks ahead, and the whole thing takes under a minute. Walk-ins are always welcome whenever there's room at the counter.
What are your opening hours?
We open weekday mornings from 7.30am to 6pm, and weekends from 8.30am to 5pm. The first bake lands at 7.30 — and we serve it until it's gone, so the early risers get the best of the tray.
Do you serve weekend brunch?
We do. Brunch runs Saturdays and Sundays from 8.30am — slow eggs, warm bread, clotted kaymak with honeycomb, and menemen sitting happily next to eggs royale. Nobody argues about it.
Are there vegetarian and vegan options?
Plenty. Much of our bakery and brunch menu is vegetarian, and the team is glad to point out the vegan and dairy-free bakes at the counter. Just ask — we know the tray by heart.
Can I host a private event?
Yes — we host private dining, corporate mornings and coffee tastings, either around the room or after hours. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll build the morning around it.
